Our therapists are not only qualified and trained in their specialty, they're strongly committed to improving the lives of special needs children and their families. Together, we offer the most comprehensive services here in Northwest Florida and serve families with needs relating to autism, down syndrome, apraxia, feeding disorders, torticollis, and so much more.

Melissa Goolsby, M.S., CCC­-SLP, BCBA

Speech/Language Pathologist, Behavior Analyst &

Owner of Across the Board


Melissa Goolsby is the owner of Across the Board Therapy Group. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Auburn University Montgomery in 1999. She began her career as a Speech Therapist in January 2000 in the public school district. She went on to obtain her Master of Science degree from Northern Arizona University in 2004. In 2014, Melissa completed the requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.


In her 20 year career, Melissa has worked in a variety of settings including school, home health, and private clinics. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys gardening, kayaking, and time with her family.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst


Originally from St. Louis, Abbey moved to the gulf coast in 2013.  She graduated suma cum laude from the University of Michigan in 2006 with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Asian Studies/Japanese Language.  She is a member of Psi Chi and Alpha Mu Gamma National Honors Societies.  After graduation, she worked as a psychometrician and research assistant at the Washington University Alzheimers Disease Research Center and the St. Louis Memory and Aging Project.  She has her Masters in Exceptional Student Education at UWF and her BCBA Certification.  Abbey is the mother of two beautiful girls, one of whom is special needs.  This prompted Abbey’s passion for ABA and the developmental services.


Physical Therapist

Cortney graduated with her Doctor of Physical therapy degree from the College of St. Scholastica in 2012. Cortney's PT career has been focused primarily in acute care hospitals with a passion for critical care patients in the ICU as well as neuro patients recovering from TBIs, CVAs, and SCIs. She also has experience with inpatient rehab and home health care settings. Following her family's move to NWFL, she finally got a chance to practice in pediatrics! 


Growing up in Minnesota, Cortney was active with pediatrics from an early age between babysitting, volunteering, and coaching soccer. She greatly enjoyed her chance to volunteer at Muscular Dystrophy camp 3 times during college. Cortney was a collegiate athlete playing soccer at CSS. She continues to be active in a healthy lifestyle between hiking, yoga, running after her 2 young sons, and going to the gym. 


Speech-Language Pathologist/Behavior Analyst

Hayden Davis is a Speech/Language Pathologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She received her Masters Degree in communication disorders from the University of South Alabama and completed coursework for her BCBA at the University of West Florida. Hayden has 20 years' experience working with adults, adolescents and children with varied abilities and needs. Hayden specializes in verbal behavior, aphasia, and social pragmatic language. She has experience treating disorders of language, articulation, fluency, feeding, and voice. She enjoys spending time with her 2 beautiful daughters, her 2 awesome dogs, and her mediocre cat. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, the beach, paddle boarding, kayaking, and golfing.


Office Manager


Cara is an Administrative Assistant at Across the Board Therapy Group, where she ensures the daily operations run smoothly. Since joining ATB in 2015, she maintains patient accounts, authorizations, account receivables and ensures availability of treatments. 


Cara has been a resident of Navarre since she moved to Florida in June of 2004 from her home state of Missouri (Go Chiefs!) She has been active in the community since. Cara takes great pride in working with children, connecting with the special needs families in our community and enjoys spending time with her husband and four-legged kiddo, Brewster.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst


Erika was born in Texas and raised in Gulf Breeze and has an undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Forensic Science from UWF.  She has her masters in ESE with a focus in ABA therapy from UWF.


Her goal has always been to work with children and she first experienced ABA therapy as an RBT in 2017 and have loved it ever since. Her passions include art, the beach, and spending time with her two dogs.

Tracey is originally from South Alabama and is so excited to finally be a Florida girl! She brings over 20 years of diversified healthcare experience to ATB including Lean Process Improvement and Studer Group patient experience fundamentals. Tracey studied Mathematics at Troy University.  She uses her love of numbers and processes to help streamline billing and denial management for ATB.


Her husband is a coach and teacher at Navarre High School. In her spare time you can find Tracey at a ball field cheering for her three kids and husband or at the beach enjoying the sand and sun.


Speech/Language Pathologist


Allison is very excited to be working at Across the Board Therapy. She is originally from San Antonio,TX and received her bachelor's degree in education from Texas A&M University, and her Master of Science in communication disorders from Eastern New Mexico State University. 

In her spare time, you can catch her playing trivia or singing karaoke with her husband. She and her husband also love to travel! Literacy, speech, and pediatrics have always been her passion and she feels very lucky to be working in a great place with great people!


Occupational Therapist

Brittney is a rare NW Florida native. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of West Florida, before going on to gain her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Drake University in 2019. As an OT, she has worked primarily in pediatrics with children with developmental delays, ASD, ADHD, ODD, Down Syndrome, anxiety, and sensory impairments.  

Brittney is trained in Sensory-Oral-Sequential (SOS) Approach to Feeding which she uses to help picky eaters learn to enjoy mealtime again! She is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. 


In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, crafting, and playing with her dog, Snowball.

Speech/Language Pathologist

Emily is originally from Huntsville, Alabama and received her Bachelor of Science as well as Masters of Communication Disorders from Auburn University. She has experience working with children in the public school system as well as in private clinics. Emily specializes in diagnosing and treating language, articulation, fluency, and resonance disorders. 


In her free time, Emily enjoys running, going to the beach, and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with her family, fiance, and two cats. "



Erin has been a Registered Dietitian for over 10 years. She graduated from Ohio State University and then went on to complete her Masters and Dietetic Internship at the University of North Florida. While the majority of Erin’s career has been working with nutrition support, she has done a lot with the pediatric/obstetric and neonatal population, and is very excited to be back working with peds! Erin is a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, and is in the process of obtaining multiple other peds nutrition certifications. Erin has a significant amount of experience in working with clients who have food allergies. She and her husband live locally and love to sail, be active in their church, and go to the beach with their German shepherd and daughter. 


Occupational Therapist

Erin was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Health & Exercise Science in 2017 from Central College in Pella, IA. She then received her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2020 from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. Erin has worked primarily in pediatrics with the Autism population and children with developmental delays.


Erin is the self proclaimed ATB resident crazy cat lady, so in her free time you’ll find her spending time at home with her 9 animals, hanging out with friends downtown or relaxing at the beach.


Board Certified Behavior Analyst


Originally from New Orleans, Jenia served as a behavior technician since 2014. She graduated summa cum laude from Capella University in 2016, Masters in Psychology and emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis. She passed her Board Certification exam in May 2016 and continued in the field as a BCBA. Jenia is experienced with patients 20 months to 19 years and has worked in clinic, home, and school settings. She has 3 beautiful children and a US Air Force-retiree husband. When she isn't working, she loves being outdoors with her family and enjoying the pool or the beautiful Navarre beaches.


Occupational Therapist

Julia has been a Pediatric Occupational Therapist since 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Arkansas. Julia has worked in a variety of settings including schools, preschools, private clinics, home health and hospitals.


Julia is trained in sensory processing, Alert program, Wilberger Deep Pressure Protocol (Brushing), Handwriting without Tears, and Brain Gym. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, movies, hiking, and the beach.


Speech/Language Pathologist


Dr. Kalli Donaway Clement has been a Speech Language Pathologist for over 10 years.  She is a specialist in swallowing and feeding problems and developing treatment programs to solve the problems experienced by children and adults who have neurological diagnoses.  


Kalli is active in local and national Speech Language Pathology associations, and is actively involved in training new Speech Language Pathologists.  Kalli graduated with her doctorate in Medical Speech Language Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh.


Occupational Therapist

Kenia is an occupational therapist who earned her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Kean University. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Recreational Therapy. Kenia discovered her passion for occupational therapy while working as a recreational therapist in an adult rehab/recreational center. There she had the privilege to work with a deeply passionate OT who influenced her decision to become an occupational therapist. Kenia discovered her love for working with children with special needs while attending her graduate program. She has been working with the pediatric population for over 5 years and enjoys helping them reach their full potential. Kenia has experience working in various settings including outpatient clinics, home-based, schools, summer camps, and a hand clinic. She has a formal training in Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), Kinesio Taping, Zones of Regulation and Learning Without Tears. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.


In her free time Kenia can be found outside spending time with her wonderful husband on the beach, going for walks and runs, hiking every beautiful mountain they stumble upon, traveling to other states and simply enjoying time with family and friends.

Physical Therapist


Laurie has been a pediatric physical therapist since 1994 and  provided therapy for children in home, school, hospital, early intervention, and outpatient settings. A graduate of Maryville University, Laurie's experience includes working with diagnoses such as Torticollis, Spina Bifida, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, medically fragile, low tone, and Down Syndrome in children. She is trained in infant massage and has a special interest in promoting “tummy time” in infants. Laurie completed her post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2017. She is married to Pastor Lance Whorton who is the pastor of Encompass Church in Navarre. Laurie enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, scrap-booking, puzzles, and sewing.


Speech/Language Pathologist


Mandi is a speech language pathologist who received her Bachelor & Masters of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Montevallo. For over 20 years, she worked with adults and pediatrics at private clinics, public/private schools, and in-home healthcare. Mandi is certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation therapy (NMES). She covers speech “from the belly to the brain”. This involves swallowing, respiratory, cognition, receptive and expressive language, articulation, voice and alternative / augmentative communication. She loves spending time with her husband, two sons & daughter at home. Her long distance loves include a son in Arizona, 3 daughters & 4 granddaughters in Idaho.


Board Certified Behavior Analyst

After earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida State University, Mariette completed a Master's in Health Education & Promotion from The University of West Florida. She taught high school science until she found her true calling in Applied Behavioral Analysis. Mariette has worked with adults and children with various disabilities and diagnoses, diabetes research & health education, and helping students reach their full potential. 


Mariette grew up in a military family and has lived in the gulf coast off and on throughout her childhood. She lives in Gulf Breeze with her husband and 3 daughters. In her free time she enjoys scuba diving, taking her girls to the beach, and playing with her dog and rabbit.

Sierra Chason, M.S., SLP-CCC

Physical Therapist


Sindhu received a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida in 2001. She has worked with adults as well as children in a variety of settings including Outpatient, Rehab, Schools, and Home Health in Alaska, Idaho, and Florida. She has worked closely with children with Torticollis, Down’s Syndrome, Autism, Developmental Delay, and Orthopedic conditions.


She is NDT trained and has worked extensively with adults who suffered from strokes. Sindhu currently lives in Navarre with her husband, 2 kids, and 3 dogs. She enjoys hiking, reading, Yoga, and fostering dogs.
